Terms of use
Effective October 29, 2026 · Last updated October 30, 2026
The short version. Parent Radar is for parents and guardians in the US who are 18 or older. It is a free beta, so it can miss things or get them wrong; always check the school's own sources for anything important. Only connect accounts you are allowed to use, for your own kids. Reply STOP to any text to stop texts.
Who we are
Parent Radar is made by Plumworth LLC, an Illinois company, 948 Crescent Boulevard, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137 ("we" or "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and Plumworth LLC. By installing or using Parent Radar, or by agreeing to its texts, you accept these terms and our privacy policy.
Who can use Parent Radar
You must be 18 or older, live in the United States, and be the parent or legal guardian of each child you set Parent Radar up for. Children do not sign up or have accounts. They only receive the texts a parent chooses, and see Parent Radar on their own device only if a parent adds it.
The beta
Parent Radar is in a small private beta, and the beta is free. It reads school sites that can change without warning, and it uses AI to pull dates out of school posts, so it can miss a post, get a date wrong, or send a text late. Parent Radar is a helper, not a replacement for the school's own grades, posts and calendar. Always check the school's sources for anything important. We may change, pause or end the beta at any time. If we ever start charging, we will tell you the price first, and you decide whether to keep going.
Your accounts and what you may connect
- Only connect accounts you are allowed to use, such as your own school gradebook and ParentSquare accounts, and only for your own children.
- Only add phone numbers that belong to you, your children, or another parent or guardian who has agreed to get the texts.
- You are responsible for following the rules of the school sites you connect. Parent Radar signs in on your phone, with your login, the same way you would.
- Do not use Parent Radar to reach anyone else's information, to send texts to people who did not agree to them, to disrupt the service, or to break the law.
- Family devices: If you add a family member's device, your phone sends that device only the kids you chose, sealed with a key only the two devices have, through Apple's iCloud. Only add devices of people in your household who may see that school information, and remove a device when that changes.
We may suspend Parent Radar for anyone who breaks these rules.
Text message terms
- Program: Parent Radar texts, from Plumworth LLC, sent from (630) 812-7996. The texts share each kid's school day: what is due, what is missing, early dismissals, things to bring, and practices or games. Parents may be in the same group text as their kid. Notes meant only for parents, such as a form to sign, go to a separate text with just the parents. A kid without a phone number in Parent Radar has their texts go to that parents-only text.
- How you sign up: a parent or guardian adds each phone number in the Parent Radar app and agrees to texts for it. By doing so, the parent confirms they are allowed to agree for that number, and that anyone else on it, such as another parent, has agreed too. We record the date and time of that consent, which parent gave it, and the version of these terms. The parent who sets up Parent Radar first confirms their own number with a 6-digit code we text to it ("NNNNNN is your code. It expires in 10 minutes. Parent Radar. Reply STOP to cancel."; at most 3 codes a day to one number and 10 for a family in all), adds their own number first, and gives the consent for every other number. A family can add up to 8 different numbers in all, counting ones removed later.
- Confirming by text (JOIN): each new number then gets one text: "Parent Radar: a parent whose number ends in NN added you to their family's daily school texts, up to 4 texts a day per child on school days (a morning and evening text to your child's group, and a morning and evening note to parents only), plus an occasional notice. Reply JOIN K7Q to start. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel." (NN is the last 2 digits of the parent who set up Parent Radar, and K7Q stands for a 3-character code for that family, different for each family waiting on the number.) It gets nothing else from Parent Radar until it replies JOIN, and when it does, one text confirming it: "Parent Radar: you're subscribed to daily school updates for your family, up to 4 texts a day per child on school days (a morning and evening text to your child's group, and a morning and evening note to parents only), plus an occasional notice. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel." A number that has not replied JOIN within 7 days of being added is removed, even if its JOIN text was still waiting to go out. Your family sends a number that text only once, even if it is removed and added again. A number gets that text at most once a day and 3 times in 30 days from all families together; one over that waits and goes out when allowed, unless the 7 days below run out first. If more than one family is waiting for the same number, the reply must be JOIN and the code from that family's text, such as "JOIN K7Q"; a plain JOIN then gets one text listing the choices by those codes only. That text reads: "Parent Radar: more than one family added you. Reply JOIN K7Q or JOIN M3P to choose whose school texts to get. Reply STOP to cancel." (K7Q and M3P stand for the codes from each family's text.) A family can still add a number that replied STOP, but it gets nothing from Parent Radar until it replies START.
- The consent box: in the app, each number has its own box, unticked until the parent ticks it, which reads: "Parent Radar school updates from Plumworth LLC to this number: up to 4 texts a day per child on school days (a morning and evening text to your child's group, and a morning and evening note to parents only), plus an occasional notice. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. Consent is not a condition of purchase. I am a parent or guardian allowed to agree for this number." A number without a ticked box gets no texts.
- How often: Up to 4 texts a day per child on school days (a morning and evening text to your child's group, and a morning and evening note to parents only), plus an occasional notice. Parents may also get one text on a weekday when the app could not check. After 3 weekdays in a row with no check, those texts stop until the app checks in again. Fewer on breaks and weekends. Texts from Parent Radar itself, such as codes, notices and the JOIN request, go out only between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. your time. To a number that has not replied JOIN, they and the replies confirming JOIN and START also wait until it is between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. where that number's area code is. Replies to STOP and HELP go out right away.
- Message and data rates may apply. Check your phone plan for details.
- To stop: reply STOP to any text. A text to Parent Radar's number that starts with STOP, END, QUIT, CANCEL or UNSUBSCRIBE, such as "Stop texting me", counts as STOP. In a group text, only a reply that is just one of those words, such as "Stop" or "STOP!", counts. START and JOIN count only as the whole reply, such as "Start" or "JOIN K7Q", so "Start the car" does not. That number gets no more texts from that moment, and you get one text confirming it. Reply START to begin again, and you get one text confirming it: "Parent Radar: you're resubscribed to daily school updates for your family. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel." Only US phone numbers get these replies, and a number gets at most one reply to each of STOP, START and HELP a day. If a family added that number while it was stopped, it then gets that family's JOIN request. If a kid's number replies STOP, the parents get one text saying a number in the family ending in its last 2 digits stopped. A family where that number never replied JOIN is not told. A parent can also remove a number in the app (Remove this number) or by emailing us.
- For help: reply HELP from any US phone (we send a number at most one HELP reply a day), or email hello@plumworth.com.
- Replies: STOP, START, JOIN and HELP, and the other STOP words above, are the keywords. We act only on a reply that is one of those keywords. Every other reply is discarded: our server does not keep it, and deletes Twilio's copy right away.
- Group texts: in a group text, a reply, including STOP, is also seen by the others in the group.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Agreeing to texts is not a condition of any purchase.
- We do not share phone numbers or text consent with anyone for their own marketing. Our privacy policy explains how we handle phone numbers.
What is ours and what is yours
Your family's information stays yours. We use it only to run Parent Radar, as our privacy policy describes. The Parent Radar app, name and pages belong to Plumworth LLC. You may use the app for your own family, and not copy, resell or take it apart.
Feedback
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve Parent Radar without owing you anything for them. We are grateful for them all the same.
No warranty
Parent Radar is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be accurate, complete, on time, or always working, and we disclaim all warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Plumworth LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for anything that results from a missed, wrong or late text, such as a missed assignment, date or event. Our total liability for any claim about Parent Radar is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Some states do not allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Ending
You can stop using Parent Radar at any time: tap Delete my family in the app, which deletes your family's numbers from our server right away and erases what the app kept on your iPhone, or delete the app and email us to delete them. If our server does not confirm the delete, because it can't be reached or does not accept the request, the app still erases everything on your iPhone and keeps asking our server to delete your family's records until it confirms. We may end your use of Parent Radar, or end Parent Radar itself, with notice when we can. The sections on what is ours, no warranty, limit of liability and governing law still apply after that.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts for DuPage County, Illinois, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it there.
Changes
If these terms change, we will update the date above and tell beta families by text before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Parent Radar after that means you accept the new terms.
